Who We Are
About Us
Despite decades of reforms access to quality health care in Africa continues to be constrained by financial barriers and other health system challenges. More than half of the continent’s 1.3 billion people cannot access the health services they need due to high out-of-pocket costs, workforce shortages and other system issues. Achieving the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) target, will be impossible for many African countries if more innovative strategies are not developed and aggressively implemented. To ensure that ‘no one is left behind’, policymakers must have timely access to the best possible research evidence to make sure their health investments save as many lives as possible.
